Franziska Englert is a PhD candidate in Latin American Studies and holds a scholarship by a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School for the Humanities Cologne. In her project, she investiagtes the interplay between telenovelas, reconciliation and Transitional Justice in Colombia. In the course of this research, Franziska was a guest researcher at Universidad Externado de Colombia, Bogotá, where she conducted field research for three months. During her master, she worked in the research project “Supporting sustainable peace” at the German Development Institute, Bonn, as a graduate assistant. Through this project, she started to work in the areas of peace and conflict, and more specificaly, Transitional Justice. In her PhD project, she explores the existing research gap between Transitional Justice and cultural-artistic production and analyes the relationship between TJ and Colombian "reconciliation telenovelas".
